Directions to Pembroke Springs
From the Washington, DC area:
The drive takes approximately 90 minutes. Go west on Interstate 66 all the way to the end where it merges (left lane merge) with Interstate 81 and go south three miles to the second Strasburg exit #296 which meets State Route 55. Go west on Route 55 for 10.3 miles, crossing over Cedar Creek and then Duck Run.
About 60 yards beyond the small bridge over Duck Run, turn right onto Wardensville Grade (County route 608, a gravel road) and go 1.5 miles to a pond on your right and shelter area on your left. Turn left at the mailboxes and drive up this smaller dirt road 100 yards to the gate, then left up the hill 200 yards to the retreat. Please use caution because of the deer.
From places other than Washington, DC:
The key is to reach Exit 296 on Route 81 and follow the above directions. For those coming from the west, our road, Wardensville Grade, is approximately four miles from the WV/VA State line on the top of Great North Mountain on State Route 55.
